UFAW lends support to The Wild Animal Welfare Committee’s virtual conference

UFAW will be hosting the Wild Animal Welfare Committee’s (WAWC) one day conference on the GoToWebinar platform to enable hundreds of delegates from around the world to be able to attend.

The international conference will take place on Monday 19 April 2021 from 08:45 – 17:00 hrs BST and will address three key questions relating to wild animal welfare:

·           Does it matter?

·           Can it be assessed?

·           How can it be optimised?

With a superb panel of international speakers confirmed, sessions on Safeguarding wild animal welfare using the Five Domains approach, The contextual nature of how we value wild animals, Evaluation of wild animal welfare, and Interactions between animal welfare, species conservation and management, and human issues the conference will be a full day, interactive event. 

The WAWC said: “For this online event, we particularly look forward to hearing views from around the world – making connections, contrasts and comparisons about how we interact with the sentient individuals who share our different environments.”
