Stop and think before buying a flat-faced dog – UFAW supports the Brachycephalic Working Group’s  position which urges all potential owners to consider the possibility that if they acquire a flat-faced dog such as a French Bulldog, Pug or Bulldog there is a strong chance that that dog will suffer from significant welfare issues including breathing difficulties, skin fold infections,  eye disease, difficulty giving birth and spinal disease.

• Brachycephalic Airway Obstruction Syndrome (BAOS)
• Brachycephalic Ocular Syndrome
• Dystocia due to Foetal-Pelvic Disproportion
• Pulmonic Stenosis
