24 May 2016

UFAW’S Senior Scientific Programme Manager Dr Huw Golledge will be giving a presentation at the Measuring Behaviour symposium in Dublin on the 27th of May which will be looking at the animal welfare implications associated with studying the behaviour of laboratory rats and mice and disturbing them when they would normally be asleep.  Huw will be co-presenting with Dr Penny Hawkins from the RSPCA’s Research Animals Science team and their presentation The 9 to 5 rodent: time for change? will discuss some of the key issues associated with using nocturnal rodents during the human working day.

The symposium will be taking place from the 25-27 of May and is the premier interdisciplinary event for scientists and practitioners concerned with the study of human or animal behaviour.  See more at http://www.measuringbehavior.org/mb2016/9-5-rodent-time-change
