Online Access to Animal Welfare Journal for subscribers

Animal Welfare is now on line. From the start of 2006 (volume 15), subscribers receiving printed copies in the usual way now also have free access to the journal via the world wide web. Making the journal available on line facilitates access to the journal around the world. The journal is available via Ingenta (www.ingentaconnect.com). If you would like to subscribe to Animal Welfare and receive free on-line access click here. Individual articles can be purchased from Ingenta direct on www.ingentaconnect.com.

If you are already a subscriber you can access the journal on-line by following these simple steps.

Personal/Individual Subscribers

In order to register and activate your journal subscription please go to www.ingentaconnect.com/register/personal or alternatively click on 'sign up here' from www.ingentaconnect.com

  • Enter your information in the fields provided
  • Choose a username and password (username/password must be at least 5 characters)

Once you have entered in all relevant information, please click on 'register'.

You can then set up your subscriptions by clicking on 'personal subscriptions', and then selecting the 'Add' tab.

  • search for the journal title Animal Welfare
  • enter in your Publisher Subscription Number (as sent to you by UFAW), tick next to Animal Welfare, and then press 'add'

You will then receive a confirmation message from Ingenta that your request has been received. An e-mail will then be sent out from Ingenta when access has been set up.

Institutional Subscribers

In order to register and activate your journal subscription please go to www.ingentaconnect.com/register/institutional or alternatively click on 'sign up here' from www.ingentaconnect.com and select the 'Institutional Registration' form. The whole process involves 5 simple steps and should take you no more than 5 minutes. Please have ready the following information:

Contact details:

  • As administrator, your basic contact details
  • Your library/institution's name and address
  • If articles are to be received via fax or Ariel, a default fax number or the IP number of your Ariel machine (optional).

Authentication:

Access to IngentaConnect can be set up in two ways. You may choose one or both methods of authentication.

  • IP address/range (users accessing from computers within an IP range defined by the site administrator) - You may need to consult your network administrator for this information.
  • User name and password.

Step 5 - Confirmation of Registration

The confirmation screen will provide you with your Ingenta customer ID number. Please provide this number whenever you contact Ingenta as this will allow them to bring up your registration details immediately. You can now click on the option to set up your institutional subscriptions.
