Young Animal Welfare Scientist

of the Year Award

Background

The UFAW Young Animal Welfare Scientist of the Year Award is a prize award to recognise the achievements of young scientists who have made significant contributions to improving the welfare of animals.

 

The Award is open to students who are currently studying for a doctoral degree and to individuals who are within six years of the end of their PhD work. Candidates may be based in the UK or elsewhere.

 

The winner of this award will receive a £1000 cheque and will be presented with a framed award certificate.

 

 

Nomination procedure

Nominations may be made on behalf of an individual or a candidate may nominate themself. Nominees must be aware that they are being nominated for the award.

 

Nominations must be made on the attached form. Additionally, two letters from well-established scientists in support of the nominated candidate should be included and the names of those providing these letters given in the nomination form. Please also include an up to date copy of the nominated candidate’s curriculum vitae.

THIS AWARD IS NOW CLOSED FOR 2012. One printed, signed copy of the nomination form, two letters of support, and nominee’s CV, should be posted to UFAW at the following address:

Closing date

Please note that all nominations for the UFAW Young Animal Welfare Scientist of the Year Award must reach the UFAW office by the 12th March 2012. THIS AWARD IS NOW CLOSED FOR 2012.

 

Nominations will be judged by a UFAW Panel following the closing date and the winning candidate will be notified and announced during 2012. Please note that unsuccessful candidates will not be contacted.
